Someone asks a probing question (“How does this handle memory under production load?”), and the borrowed confidence evaporates. You realize you only knew the title, not the substance. You are standing in the room intellectually naked.

The uncomfortable 15 minutes you spend wrestling with an architectural problem in silence is where your engineering intuition is born. Use AI to challenge your hypotheses, not to bypass thinking.

3. Disciplined Time-Boxing (The Developer’s Reality)
